How to Register for KIIP Classes
All KIIP registration is done through socinet.go.kr. You need an Alien Registration Card (ARC) to create an account. Classes fill up fast — first-come, first-served.
✅ Who Can Register
- Foreign residents with a valid Alien Registration Card (ARC)
- Naturalized Koreans (within 3 years of acquiring citizenship)
- Must hold a long-term stay visa (not short-term tourist B/C visas)
- NOT eligible: visitors on B-1, B-2, C-3 (short-term tourist) visas
🪜 Step-by-Step Registration
- STEP 1: Go to www.socinet.go.kr and create an account
- STEP 2: Log in and go to My Page
- STEP 3: Take the Placement Test (사전평가) to determine your level
- STEP 4: Check your level assignment result on My Page
- STEP 5: Browse available classes by location, time, and level
- STEP 6: Register for a class (first-come, first-served — be fast!)
- STEP 7: Attend all classes (aim for 100% attendance for refund)
- STEP 8: Pay tuition fee via My Page after completing the level
- STEP 9: Register for the level assessment test
- STEP 10: Pass the assessment → repeat for next level
📍 Finding Classes Near You
- Classes offered at designated education institutions nationwide
- Search by city/region on socinet.go.kr
- Class formats: weekday evenings (18:30-22:30) or weekend all-day
- Typical class size: 24 students maximum per class
- New semesters announced mid-January, mid-June — check regularly
- Class registration opens 1-2 weeks after each semester begins
📄 Documents Needed
- Valid Alien Registration Card (ARC) for account creation
- TOPIK score certificate (if claiming language exemption)
- Disability certificate (if claiming fee exemption)
- Basic living subsidy certificate (if claiming fee exemption)

If a class in your area is full, join the waitlist or check nearby areas. Weekend intensive classes (8 hours on Saturday) help you complete a level faster than weekday evening classes.
